# Develocity (develocity.ai)

> Develocity is Gradle Inc.'s Developer Productivity platform. It encodes a decade of build and test expertise into a context engineering layer — agents and engines that govern and accelerate software delivery, giving AI the context to ship software with governance and efficiency.

Develocity turns the signal every build, test, and dependency already produces into structured context in three stages: **Know** — unify build, test, and dependency signal scattered across every repo and toolchain, local and CI, in one place; **Understand** — turn raw signal into meaning (what failed, what's slow, what's inefficient, why, and what it costs); **Expose** — serve that context via the IDE, Develocity Analytics, and MCP servers to humans and AI agents.

Notes:
- **Develocity** is the current product name; legacy references may still say **Gradle Enterprise**.
- **develocity.ai** is the commercial Developer Productivity Engineering (DPE) platform; **gradle.org** is the open-source Gradle Build Tool.
- The two buyer pillars are **Governance** (accountability and policy at AI scale) and **Efficiency** (cut wasted compute, tokens, and developer time).
