Feature overview

Develocity Agents

Develocity Agents is a suite of AI agents that keep your builds fast, green, and secure. Every agent runs the same loop: identify what to fix and where, fix it as a verified change, then observe the result across every project. Identifying what to fix is the hard part, grounded in data no competitor holds — and the encoded expertise to act on it. The Build Caching Optimizer diagnoses and remediates cache misses; the OSS Asset Manager governs the lifecycle of your open-source and first-party dependencies; agents for build performance, build failures, and flaky tests follow. Each reasons against structured Develocity data — Build Scan telemetry, Policy Scan results, and Provenance — through Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, citing the evidence behind every diagnosis. It is the agent tier of Develocity's Context Engineering layer.

Identify, fix, observe — the loop behind every agent

  • Identify — the hard part, and Develocity's differentiator: find which projects to fix first, then root-cause each from structured Build Scan and Policy Scan data.
  • Fix — the agent turns the diagnosis into a change, applies it the way that fits — a pull request or a change-control hand-off — and confirms it worked.
  • Observe — understand the agent's adoption and impact across the company over time, make the value it returns visible.

Three categories of build health, each with specialist agents

  • Fast builds — the Build Caching Optimizer finds why a cacheable task missed the cache and proposes minimum-change PRs, and the Build Performance Optimizer tunes parallelism and memory allocation.
  • RoadmapSecure builds — the OSS Asset Manager inventories your open-source and first-party dependencies and re-checks them as a query when a CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) lands after admission.
  • RoadmapGreen builds — the Build Failure Handler root-causes failures against your signature history, and the Flaky-Test Diagnoser identifies, diagnoses, and quarantines or repairs a flaky test end-to-end.
  • Every agent is toolchain-agnostic and installs once — so covering fast, green, and secure builds is a single platform-team decision, not a separate point tool adopted for each.

Governance

Fix under control — govern every change the agents make, and the dependencies underneath

  • The OSS Asset Manager builds its inventory over Provenance and runs your Policy Scan policies against it continuously, not just at the build gate.
  • RoadmapWhen a CVE lands after admission, a query over the inventory flags every affected build — first-party included — without re-scanning a binary, then files a change-control ticket to rebuild.
  • RoadmapApprove, override, or audit any autonomous action and gate it by a confidence threshold — human-on-the-loop control sized to the volume of change agents produce.
  • Runs on the AI agents you already use — such as Claude and Codex — and deploys on-premises or in your private cloud, so data never leaves your infrastructure.

Observability

Observe the impact — what each agent did, what it saved, and where it hasn't run

  • Every agent run is tagged in the Build Scan it touches — what triggered it, what it changed — traceable in the same record your builds already emit.
  • RoadmapRoll each agent's impact up across the organization — the CI time recovered against the tokens spent — so engineering leaders see the return in Develocity Analytics.
  • RoadmapSee which projects have adopted the agents and which haven't, so rollout is driven deliberately rather than left to each team.
